Crash Course in Web Typography

Thoughtbot recently started up a fantastic design group called Design with Boston. Last Thursday I gave a presentation there called “Crash Course in Web Typography” and I’ve put the slides online.

I’m a professional developer, but not a professional designer, so the presentation’s content is at a very basic level and probably only useful to newbies. Even so, we ended up with some good discussion especially when the professional designers in the audience started talking about their preferred fonts.

Tried to read this in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and even the dreaded Internet Explorer. In the first three, the slides would not advance past the title; it just stayed at 1/77. In IE, the page was just completely black. Too bad, because I’d like to look at them!

Oh, I see I have a bug! Apparently clicking on the arrows does not work. I’ll make a note to fix that.

In the meantime, you can use the arrow keys to navigate. You can also change the slide number in the URL directly.

Thanks for letting me know about this!

    Edit: It’s fixed now.
